An institutional outdoor space with no engagement or natural elements — the school grounds offered no visual connection to the natural world.
We designed and installed a fully functioning koi pond ecosystem at Jericho High School, complete with a natural stone cascade waterfall, ornamental aquatic plantings, and a concealed biological filtration system. Ornamental grasses and flowering perennials frame the water's edge, creating a living outdoor classroom that attracts wildlife and gives students a moment of calm during the school day. The pond operates as a self-sustaining ecosystem that thrives year-round with minimal intervention.
